Dublin Shopping and Walking

Instead of going to Cork, my dad and my sister decided that we wanted to spend a day in Dublin. I had already done a lot there, but I love the city, so I was more than happy to take them around to the things I loved and experience new things with them. We booked the Guinness Storehouse for our morning, which we did as a group, but I was excited to show them around, and I knew my dad wanted to do this a lot, so I was excited for him to experience it too. It was very rainy when we got there, we took the tram and then walked the rest of the way there and pretty much got right in, which was nice. We went through until the tasting room, and this time I actually drank the Guinness, and I was not a fan. 
                                                                                            Then we went through the rest of the tour, and then went to the bar for my dad. The area was gorgeous because you could see all around you, and there was fog and rain, and it was so pretty to look out to. I attempted to drink a lager and was also not a fan, so I put it back on the bar and ran away...anyway. After that, we wanted to go to the park by Grafton Street and then go shopping, so we walked around for a while and saw some swans and this lovely violinist who was playing in a gazebo. We saw some cherry blossom trees, which are some of my favorites, and to me, they're a sign of home because I have a giant cherry blossom tree in my backyard. After that, we went shopping, and we went into a lot of good stores, and I almost spent a ridiculous amount of money, but I held off, which was good. We still had some time before our next attraction, so we went to a pizza place called Bambino's, which was so amazing and so good, and we were all super happy to have something warm to eat after being out in the rain for a couple of hours. At four, we went over to Trinity College to go and see the Book of Kells, and it was one of the coolest things I've seen since I've been here. I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to ancient things; it's just a random quirk of mine, so this was very exciting for me. I listened to a bit of the audio tour before I ended up reading the information on the walls and seeing all of the depictions and pictures. The end of the museum was the actual book, and it was so pretty to look at and see the actual thing there. The day was very good and we had a lot of fun, and it was so nice to see my family and spend time with them and show them the things that I love about Ireland. The poem that I thought of for this day was The Wild Swans at Coole again, I just thought about the swans that I saw and the park today and I thought of how beautiful they were and the two of them just swimming along and living their lives.

Hike up Coumeenoole Hill

At around 11am, we arrived at Coumeenoole Hill, which was another film spot for Star Wars! I was very excited about the hike since I've been missing going on them at home, and the atmosphere and weather were absolutely perfect. I ended up pretty far ahead of the other group as we ascended the hill, but I was more than happy because it gave me an opportunity to quiet my mind and really appreciate the nature around me. My favorite part of the whole thing was hearing the waves crash against the rocks, and while it was only slightly concerning how close you could get to the edge, I found it exhilarating. I noticed our bus driver had made it up to the tower on the top of the hill ahead of me, so I walked up to meet him, and he talked to me about the history of the tower, a little bit about the area, and then mentioned a bit of pagan influence on the area as well. Another walk around the park

Surprise, surprise, I went on another walk during golden hour. These have become my favorite things to pass the time, and I look forward to doing them almost every day. yesterday, the moon was out earlier, and you could see her almost all day, so it was nice to be able to see the moon rise and the sun set during my walk. During these walks, I like to try and plan. So yesterday was planning the Fall semester and all of the things I'm gonna have to run around and do to keep busy. I was able to get a pretty good headway on what my plans were going to be like, so the rest of my walk was just enjoying the weather and the sky. I ended up stopping at one point to sit and look out to the water, which wasn't really there cause the tide was so low, which was surprising because the last time I wrote, the water was super high. Dungarvan Moon Walk

One night, I decided that I was going to go on a short walk by the park to look at the stars and the moon. This is one of my favorite ways to destress at school since there's a good spot to stargaze and moon-watch on campus. I figured I would try my best to do it while I was here since I've been missing home a lot recently, and the scenery around us is too beautiful to not take advantage of. On my walk, I listened to some instrumental pieces, some that I played in high school when I still played the violin, and some from my favorite movies and animation studios. It was incredibly relaxing, and I spent some time standing by the wall to watch the water. I ended up running into our cat friend, that I named Sox, the group has adopted the name for when we see it, too. Very, very sweet cat, it always chirps when it sees me and runs up to get pets, which makes me miss my sweet boy at home. Calcifer has been quite chaotic, I've heard from my parents.
