Dingle Town
Today was the bus tour of the Ring of Kerry and Dingle. Dingle, out of everywhere else, was honestly one of my favorite places on this trip so far, the environment around it was so gorgeous I was absolutely obsessed. The town was very homey and colorful, and it just felt so nice being so close to the water, too. If you can't tell, I'm a sucker for seaside towns. We took the bus around the peninsula for a couple hours and stopped along the coast every so often to take pictures and do some sightseeing. My favorite spot was Dunmore Head Hill and the beach below it. We walked up the hill before going to the beach, I ended up trucking along and going up ahead of the group just because I wanted a little bit of alone time to enjoy the nature around me. It made me very happy to do that, though, because I felt like I was a lot calmer and at peace than I had been for a while. When I got to the top, the surrounding landscape was absolutely gorgeous. While I was walking and looking around, I was totally playing the Star Wars soundtrack in my head because I was thinking about the scenes that were filmed there, it was goofy, but I loved it. I turned around to see how far I was from the group, and I was a decent bit away still, but I saw our bus driver at the top near a tower, and I went up to talk to him. I asked him about the structures and the presence of pagan religion, and he started telling me about our next stop, which was a ritual ground. I walked down with Snyder, and we talked a little bit, I made him take pictures because he made me take pictures with the scenery, so it was an even trade. We got down to the bottom of the hill again and decided to go down to the water because I really wanted to before we left, and we still had 40 minutes or so before the bus had to move on to the next stop. I had the girls take more pictures of me by the water, and they turned out cute. Snyder took off his shoes and went in the water. I ended up following, and it was a very freeing feeling with the water and the sand on my feet, then it was fun walking back up to the bus without my shoes on; I felt like a kid walking around my neighborhood, which is a weird comparison but it makes sense in my head I promise.
