Ardmore
Today, we drove about an hour away from Dungarvan to the small seaside town of Ardmore to meet a tour guide. Although most of the visit was spent walking around and trying to take all of the information that the guide was telling us, I was able to really appreciate my surroundings, and I was very happy to be near the sea. We walked up to Declan's well, and the guide had us do an exercise that had us put down our phones, close our eyes, and listen to the nature around us. I really liked doing this, and I was happy when he told us to go explore and sit for ten minutes and take in everything around us. After that, we did a couple more things to finish up the tour, and then we headed to the beach for bathrooms and then back towards the bus stop to get ice cream or milkshake things. They were super good, and I would so go back to get more. I felt incredibly connected to the earth during this trip because I was forced to take a while off my phone and appreciate the life that I have in front of me, and I fear that I don't do that as often as I should. But I plan on turning off my phone during my walks so that I can start doing that more. I thought of another part of the Lake Isle of Innisfree by Yeats; "I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made; Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee, And live alone in the bee-loud glade." and it made sense for this one because I would leave everything behind in the US to come and live here for the rest of my life by the ocean. Although I wish it was a little bigger of a town and also maybe warm. But still, I was very much in love with this place.
